Your Yoga Journey— Your Relationship with You
It starts with yourself.
Welcome!
My name is Angela Nyman and I am so pleased you came across my website!
My yoga journey started about 20 years ago, but it never really ‘took off’ until I moved to the countryside, had my son and not long after, Covid happened and my ‘normal life’, as I knew it was non-existent.
Having moved from Sweden to London in my early 20’s I made London my home. I was a Chief Marketing Officer for a big tech company in London for many years and I was loving it.
But in my late 30s, something in me shifted and I moved to East Sussex. It was first then that I found my first amazing yoga studio that I could to go consistently and where I felt at home. It was like a community, which in London I never really got. There I would just move from one studio to another, never really ‘getting it’.
But here in the countryside, I experienced yoga in a different way. I started feeling and seeing the benefits. I began to read more about yoga and tried to understand how it could help me, and other people. And after my son was born and Covid hit, I really really needed it. Even if it was ‘just online classes’ for a few months until the studios opened up again. It really helped me. When the world finally opened up again, I was hooked.
So when my yoga studio announced they were starting their first Yoga Teacher Training course, I sat my partner down, worked out the dog, work and child logistics for the next 6 months and signed up!
I was lucky enough to be able to fit it in with my current marketing job (which I am still doing as a freelancer) and so my yoga teacher training journey began. And what a journey it has been (and still is!).
After my 200-teacher training finished I immediately started teaching in different places in East and West Sussex. And I absolutely loved it. So much that I embarked on a 40h Yin Teacher Training only a few months later. Yin is completely different to Hatha and Vinyasa and I love how I can teach both, depending on what my students want to achieve and how they are feeling.
Everyone’s yoga journey is different. This is my personal journey. It’s a neverending journey. And I absolutely love everything about it.

" I absolutely love my one-to-one sessions with Angela. She always creates really personalised and fun yoga sequences for me, focusing on different areas of the body and I always walk away feeling so amazing afterwards!

Five personal reasons why I do yoga
01 — To improve my physical health
Yoga is a great way to improve your physical health. Each practice involves a series of poses that help improve strength, flexibility, and balance. Regular yoga practice can also help with weight management, improve circulation, and boost cardiovascular health.
02 — To reduce stress and anxiety
Stress and anxiety are common issues that many people face in their daily lives. Yoga can be an effective tool for managing these feelings. The practice involves controlled breathing techniques, which can help calm the mind and reduce stress levels. Yoga has also been shown to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression.
03 — To enhance mental clarity and focus
Yoga can help improve mental clarity and focus. The practice involves a strong focus on the breath, which can help quiet the mind and improve concentration. This can lead to increased productivity, better decision-making, and improved memory.
04 — For protection from injury and relief from backpain
Yoga is great for easing pain and improving mobility in people with lower back pain. Gentle yoga has also been shown to ease some of the discomfort of tender, swollen joints for people with arthritis. I have experienced lower back pain and sciatica for the majority of my adult life and yoga has helped me so much in regulating that and lowering the instances when I get ‘a bad back’.
05 — To practice mindfulness and self-awareness
Yoga is a practice that encourages mindfulness and self-awareness. It involves paying attention to your body and your breath and becoming more aware of your thoughts and emotions. This increased self-awareness can help you make more intentional choices in your life, and cultivate a greater sense of inner peace and contentment. And it feels just amazing :-)
